Post subject:  Even more Waxwings - off Burton Road, Lincoln

Further to a BirdGuides report yesterday of c.100 Waxwings off Burton Road (B1398), Lincoln, towards the A46 Bypass bridge, I visited the area this morning (Sat) from 11.30.

The report was from the Thorpe Avenue-Queen Elizabeth Road area. Initially only Starlings were seen but then a flock of 20-25 Waxwings flew over Queen Elizabeth Road and settled in a tree in Retief Close near a couple of rather depleted Rowans. After 5 minutes and before they had started to feed, a Carrion Crow landed in the branches amongst them and spooked them. They flew off and I was unable to relocate them.
