After seeing 8 Waxwings on School Lane yesterday, whilst working nearby, I'm happy to report numbers have today increased to 37.

Regards Mark.

There was no sign of any Waxwings in School Lane at 0830, but a later inspection at 1150 revealed at least 27 birds. There are plenty of suitable alternative sites in the immediate area. There were also 3 Waxwings in Marsh Lane towards the end closest to the village.

I have checked School Lane daily since the last sighting without any success, but this afternoon at 1430 there were 13 in Church End just a short distance further on. They were resting in the last tree before the church and on the same side of the road. Unfortunately, when I got out of my car and focused binoculars upon them, they flew across to the playing field and beyond into the network of village gardens.

17 Waxwings today at 1340 in the tree of a garden across the road from the village hall in Keeling Street. They were descending in twos and threes to a food source out of sight behind a garden wall. These birds were only just around the corner from the original records in School Lane.
