At about 9.30 this morning, a flock of waxwings flew over the village and landed in a tree near the Legion Field. About one third of the flock flew off before I could count but 21 remained, so the total must have been 30-40 birds. I didn't get a chance to estimate the number of first year birds.

Healing flock now 34 or 35, and fairly mobile.

3.00pm Sunday: 30+ waxwings in the area of Pine Walk, feeding on cotoneaster tree
in Pine Walk and something I couldn't see clearly in a back garden, each time coming
down briefly from adjacent taller trees.

At 1430 today, a flock of about 45 waxwings on the cotoneasters near the green between Radcliffe and Nicholson Roads. There are some berries left, so they might be there for a day or 2.
