Post subject:  Kirkby Pits Siskins

In somewhat inclement weather I couldn't locate the RN Duck, but I did come across c.160 Siskins feeding on the ground at the end of the causeway opposite the Tip entrance. They were feeding under the large birch trees and also bathing (!) in the standing water. Largest flock I've seen around here for some time. 2 Water Rails calling from the reeds on the reseve pit, little else of note
