Are they there now? Where do I walk to? Lineside = by the railway line itself or on the Cooks Lock estate?

No sign just now when myself and Dad went tearing up there to see if we could break our long run of No-Waxwing misery.

Where exactly were people standing to see these birds? On the Cooks Lock estate itself? Near the pumping station or along the path that runs adjacent to the South Forty Foot and not on the estate at all?

Found them feeding in the bushes lining the field right at the top of Saundergate Lane East - where you turn off the A16 for Frampton Marsh. I'd estimate around 60 or so birds there by the time I arrived just after 3pm. They stayed until just after 3.30pm - by which time it was getting dark and the rain becoming much heavier - and then they flew south along the A16 into a thicker less accessible patch of trees.

Luckily, I only live a few hundred yards away so I'll have an amble up tomorrow to see if they return.

Had a cruise around the Wyberton suburbs around the Saundergate Lane area this lunchtime and drew a blank. I did see a small flock (6) on the way back at the top of roadside shrubs between the ATL Garage (London Rd) and the Liquorpond St roundabout (not a place to stop given the volume of traffic)
