At 1pm today whilst enjoying a long walk in the fog came across a mixed flock of c60 Yellowhammers and c20 Tree Sparrows on Caistor Lane between Walesby Top and Tealby by the farm buildings. On an 8/9 mile walk a solitary Mistle Thrush in Walesby village was the only thrush (apart from a few blackbirds) seen or heard!

My wife and I did the same walk today in glorious sunshine - the Yellowhammer flock has grown to c110 with a few Reed Buntings as well. 35 Fieldfares feeding on the hedgerows on Walesby Hill and the Mistle Thrush singing heartily despite the cold.
