Checking 'The Patch' Shearmans Wath this morning at 1030hrs. I scanned the small flock of Tufties to see that amongst them was a Ringnecked Duck. Am I right to suggest it may be the Kirkby one on holiday and possibly the same Drake as last year returning to his old haunts?

When was the Kirkby individual last seen?

Michael

I saw one on Riverslea pit at Kirkby on Bain on 21st December and thought it might be here to stay but in spite of very regular visits
I have not spotted it since so it might well be the same one. (Is the one at Shearman's Wath photgraphable?)

He is viewable from the roadside if present but as last April there are plenty of other private pits available in the vicinity so could be out of bounds for long periods.
