Thrush survey in the snow this morning revealed 35 blackbirds, 3 redwing and 1 mistle thrush. Highlights included 1 kingfisher, 1 green sandpiper, 1 treecreeper, 1 bullfinch and 1 cormorant looking for somewhere to land.

A Webs count at Withern on Tuesday also produced a green sandpiper, kingfisher a single pintail and 5 fieldfares, so they do exist, I was starting to wonder!

Phil,

I've started to notice some Redwing and Fieldfare in private gardens around willoughby. They are singles scratching about in leaf litter and certainly not the usual large flocks that are seen on grass fields.

Hi George, the redwings I had the other day were doing exactly the same.

When you see that Comorant, again, can you tell him that he'd be better off landing at Southampton than Heathrow!!!!!!!!
