Had a 2hr walk around East and West Keal hill yesterday, and again this morning:
190113
Blackbird 60
Mistle Thrush 5
Fieldfare 3
Redwing 7
Song Thrush 4

Also Yellowhammer 22
Bullfinch 4
Tawny Owl 1 male calling persistently out in the open after being disturbed by Magpies and Crows

First Song Thrushes I've had since early December

200113

Far fewer birds around today, with the exception of 22 Redwings feeding in leaf litter on the Barley Cliff estate. Also amazing acrobatic display by male and female Sparrowhawks near West Keal church

In the garden, up to 20 Chaffinches, 2 Reed Buntings, Bullfinch M+F, and 2 GS Woodpeckers

Phil
