Post subject: Garden Bittern, Skegness

I received a call via Gib this morning to the effect that a couple in Skegness believed they had a Bittern in their garden! When I got there the bird had flown off (towards Gib) but they had managed a record shot (in Photo Album) which confirms that it was indeed a Bittern and had been present since first light. It was perched on top of a well pruned Leylandii about 12 feet from their lounge window! Quality Garden Tick indeed!
