I looked about 15:45 and there was virtually nothing on the scrape other 4 little egret and 3 mute swans. No wildfowl of any sort. There was an entry from about 12:00 which recorded the bird by Dave Coker - no other details that I could read. I didn't get the impression that anybody else had looked Much water in the fields and the approach path to the hide was flooded. The original (yurt) pit the other side of the road had about 50 mallard and 4 gadwall |

Went through to look at about 2pm yesterday. The American Wigeon was with a couple of hundred Eurasian Wigeon and Teal on the largest flood behind the pumping station at the Short Ferry end of the reserve. After obtaining good but distant views (and a couple of digiscoped record shots) I was joined by three other (non-Lincs?) birders. Unfortunately as they approached along the bank, the whole flock took flight and, after circling a few times, headed off towards Branston Fen. It's probably still in the wider Bardney area with the rest of the Wigeon flock. |

Possible sighting of American Wigeon on Branston Island with several 100's of Wigeon. Best to scope from the cycle path near Bardney Lock. Also 2 Bewick's Swans, 12 Pintail, 4 Goosander on Witham, 2 x Barn Owl Merlin over Fiskerton Fen Scrapes also 3 Little Egret, Common Buzzard, Snipe |

The bird returned to Fiskerton Fen Sunday afternoon apparently It showed distantly and intermittently this afternoon (Monday) in the flooded field beyond the main body of water. With at least 64 wigeon 3 goosander flew over At least 100 fieldfare also Main path still flooded - at least 4 inches deep |

The American Wigeon was re-located this afternoon in the flooded field beyond the main body of water, feeding in the shallow ditches with c 100 Wigeon. It took quite a bit of finding as the birds are able to hide in these ditches but eventually it came into the open to feed and was observed for about ten/fifteen minutes before dropping down into the vegetation and out of sight. Also in the area, 2/3 Buzzards, c 10 Little Egrets with a Barn Owl and a Green Woodpecker around the LWT pit. Cheers, David Cohen With Russell Hayes and others |

Reported/information from Andy Lakin The American Wigeon was still present late afternoon at Fiskerton Fen. It appears that a few people were looking on the L.W.T reserve by mistake. The bird is actually North of the road on the wet fields just before the Short Ferry pumping station. If in the same place as today ( on the wet field past the wood ) it is best to walk along the bank past the hide as it can be obscured by the trees. The bird was elusive due to the rough ground but did show fairly well when actively feeding on the short grass. |

The American Wigeon was still present today but was very elusive, feeding in the undulating field behind the main scrape with c150 Eurasian Wigeon. We did not see it between 08:30 and 10:00 despite thorough searching but when we returned at 11:00 we found it after about half an hour. We saw it for about 10 minutes before it was again lost to view. It was not visible from the hide but from the river bank past the hide. Also present were 5 Dunlin, which flew in with c400 Lapwings, and 9 Little Egrets. With Rick Bennett. |

Jrc and I had the American Wigeon yesterday morning between 10.45 and 11.30 on the wet fields behind the Environment Agency works at Short Ferry across the road from Fiskerton Fen |

American Wigeon was still present today North of the hide. Also 6 Egyption Geese, 2 Goosander, 6 Shelduck and 5 Little Egret. |

Had a look today for the American Wigeon. Couldn't find it among the 218 wigeon I counted. It was recorded on BirdGuides but I found it difficult as the birds were about 500 yards away with the sun at right angles making it difficult. Perhaps morning is best 4 little egrets 66 lapwing over |

managed to squeeze an hour in from 8.30am this morning but didn't see the American Wigeon  . Plenty of Wigeon moving about in the undulations. Egyptian Geese still there, 7 Little Egrets and only a pair of Shelduck this morning. Oh, and a couple of Skylarks singing.... spring is in the air!Regards Carl |
