Recent sightings from Coldharbour Lane: -

Short-eared owl - 2 seen Thursday, first sightings in 2013, not seen since
Barn owl - 3
Fieldfare - 110 maximum
Skylark - 30 - have reappeared over last few days
Yellowhammer - 30
Magpie - 12
Red-legged partridge - 6
Song & Mistle Thrush

Garden sightings:-
Lesser Redpoll - 2
Tree Sparrow - 8 maximum - down from 30 last winter
Great Spotted woodpecker - 2
Song Thrush - 1, in full voice
Blackbird - 8

Updated owl activity:
Sunday 17th - Barn owl x 3, Short-eared owl - at least 1.

Monday 18th - Barn owl x 3 , Short-eared owl - 1

Barn owl - up to 3 showing daily.
Short-eared owl - seen Thursday/Friday/Sunday & stunning views today. Multiple views but probably a single bird.

Garden:
Lesser Redpoll - maximum 4 on niger feeder.

Short-eared owl - protracted display by one bird. Highlight was aerial combat with one of the local buzzards until the latter
was chased off by a crow.
