The swans by Idle Bank (near Tunnel Pits) today were
Mute Swan c 15
Bewick's Swan 5 adults
Whooper Swan 97 (most adults) - though not easy to count as some were part hidden in the flooded crop and there could have been more. The whoopers were doing plenty of noisy display.

There were 16 more Mutes and 2 Whoopers just south of the B1396 on the Notts border (though the Whoopers at least were in Lincs).

Also in that area, notable counts included 122 Mallard, 45 Pochard & 10 GCGrebes on Cove Farm quarry, and 23 Gadwall on Ellerholme lake.
