Passing through the area my wife and I had a four mile walk around the woods yesterday. At least two pairs of GS Woodpeckers engaged in courtship and one drumming near nest box 51 (you must have very tall nest recorders in the south west of the county judging by the height of all the boxes!) Highlights were a single male Crossbill near Bourne and a Red Kite near Edenham
