Very cold morning with frequent snow showers:-
At least 1 Bittern still at the mere, seen to fly from south reeds and landed in top of thin strip of reeds behind raft, sat up in reeds for about three minutes before clambering down and out of sight.
Also seen:-
2 Egyptian Geese on field west of wood
33 Greylag Geese on mere
2 pairs Teal
2 pairs Goosander
1 Kingfisher on main drain sluice
1 Skylark singing
3 Mistle Thrushes, 1 singing
