Despite the best efforts of the rain/ sleet/ snow/ devilish sky muck, I had a pretty good weekend of birding. Highlights (along with meeting the very amiable Richard Doan on Saturday) were:- Saturday 9th March Gibraltar Point Treecreeper x 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker x 1 Sparrowhawk x 1 Sanderling x 72 Turnstone x 34 Bar-tailed Godwit x 7 Ringed Plover x 1 Cut End Brent Goose x 130+ Dunlin x 200+ Turnstone x 23 Grey Plover x 13 Sunday 10th March Westgate Wood Redwing x 1 Siskin x 14 Long-tailed Tit x 6 Frampton Marsh Hen Harrier x 1 (f) Kingfisher x 1 (f) Avocet x 28 Ringed Plover x 2 Wyberton Churchyard Common Buzzard x 1 Green Woodpecker x 1 Mistle Thrush x 2 Redshank x 4 |
