In the garden today: Brambling 1 Lesser redpoll 2 Siskin 1 I have now had siskin in the garden, more or less daily, for seven successive weeks, coming to sunflower hearts. |

John, There has been a steady passage of Siskins in the Market Rasen area since February 9th. At one of my sites near Osgodby I have ringed 151 since then but only one re-trap from previous years! I am re-trapping some of the February birds so a percentage are lingering in the area. They have not put on a lot of weight so, from previous experience, I expect they will be around for another month or so. Stuart. |
