In arctic blizzard/conditions this morning I set off looking for the reported Twite at Marston STW. Whoopers 28 - appeared from the south in the blizzard (just after 08.00am), circled the site and landed in the grass field near the works entrance. Wigeon 25 Cettiās Warbler 3 TWITE (at least 2 seen, may be more BUT difficult to see when on the ground - reported 5 yesterday?) feeding in the leek field near car park within a mixed flock of linnet (30), chaffinch (c20), skylark (5), goldfinch (15), reed bunting (5), pied wagtail (10) occasionally flushed and landed briefly in the hedgerow. There is also lesser redpoll (10) in the hedge. To get a good view it took me 2 hours..... Andrew |

The Whoopers that left going North yesterday have not returned. Two Twite seen by Dave Roberts this morning, so should still be around until Saturday. 22 Curlew flying around. David |

I was there although I didn't see it myself and it was just as I was leaving. David |

No sign of the Tw*** today in fairly awful weather over a 6 hour period. Few finches around so maybe the snow has pushed them off. Little else to speak of - 18 Curlew, 2 Cetti's, Chiffchaff... |

Three Twite seen at 1019 this cold, windy morning (26/03/13) with a very mobile Linnet flock - mainly ground-feeding on Leek field. David |

I was at Marston STW between 0730-0850 and didn't see a single linnet, let alone a twite! ( The key to finding the twite seems to be the location of the linnet flock.) Nothing else to report except... 3 cormorant 2 shelduck 52 teal 18 mallards 3 redpoll Andrew |
