couple of hours or so late afternoon very quite generally, highlights 75 ish brent buzzard male hen harrier 6/8 gadwell 10 widgeon 20 teal 20 shelduck 4 pied wags skylarks singing terry whalin |

tried again around high tide today, again very quite at the haven 7 gadwall 5 widgeon 2 smallish flocks brents 80 approx. skylarks singing & meadow pips in songflight then walked down towards pyes and had a look at the large wet area of mud, not bad, wish we had more, 40 + dunlin 7 sanderling 15 ringed plover 25 redshank 20 teal 2 shoveller 8 gadwall 4 mallard 2 water pipit rock pipit 2 buzzard inc the pale bird and probably short eared owl very brief view but never came back above the far bank 95% sure it was short eared owl kestrel 2 grey partridge on the walk down hope this area stays as a wetland but looks to be drying out, need some rain also approx. 15 little egret at grainthorpe, the dykes and pyes end terry whalin |
