At Donna Nook this morning there was a bit of movement, 1 Goldcrest, 1 Chiffchaff, 1 Wheatear and a noticeable increase in Blackbirds. There was a male Stonechat at Horseshoe Point this afternoon. Geoff |

Also at Donna Nook this morning, there was light northerly passage of Lapwings, Meadow Pipits, a few finches and alba wagtails. There were 4 Common Buzzards as well as a Peregrine which circled and climbed very high before drifting NE and out over the sea and a Red Kite that came in from the Humber mouth and continued SW inland. |

This evening at Saltfleet there was a large movement of thrushes, ca.300 Redwings, 50 Fieldfare and Blackbirds, they were flying into the strong southerly wind and gaining height, I got the impression that once high enough they were heading out to sea. The new pools at The Haven had a few Swallows and Sand Martin feeding over them, also there were several Redshank and a Green Sandpiper was calling. Geoff |

This just pales into significance when compared to bird reports from the Yorkshire coast and just how poorly situated the Lincolnshire coast is,see Spurn's website for an example here @ http://www.spurnbirdobservatory.co.uk Steve. |
