I managed an hour and a half this morning. A certain hint of change since my last outing. Five chiffchaff, three singing, pushed winter to the back of my mind. I had three whooper swan pass north overhead, two grey partridge which is a bit of a treat, 4 avocet, 24 redwing, a drumming GS woodpecker, 7 G C grebe, brand new greylag young!!!!!!!, a feamle and a stunnig male marsh harrier, cetti's warbler and a female goldeneye.

The wind blew a far away freezer onto my face but my mind ruminated the juicy fresh morsels of spring.
