Another good morning on the patch despite the strong WSW wind:-
17 Gadwall
2 Shoveler
2 Buzzards
2 Sparrowhawks
Water Rail heard
1 Common Sandpiper flew in to mere calling, flew round twice and then off N. Nowhere to land, not recorded on patch last year.
1 Kingfisher
2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers flew over mere
c20 Sand Martins
c6 Swallows
1 male Yellow wagtail flew over tip, calling
1 female Wheatear on tip
1 Reed Warbler Singing
2 Willow Warblers
5 Chiffchaffs
2 Jays
1 male Reed Bunting
5 Yellowhammers
This now puts my patch year list on 93.
Whitethroat reported on tip this afternoon.
