Hobby 1 Returning from an evening visit to Kirkby Moor gravel pits I decided to return home to Fishtoft by a favoured route which is extremely rural but which never fails to give me a good view of a Barn Owl hunting in the advancing evening and this evening was no exception My route is Coningsby to Moorside to Tumby Moorside to Moorhouses to New Bolingbroke where I turn right onto the B1183.
Between Tumby Woodside and Moorhouses is where I saw my Hobby at a point where the minor road crosses the Newham Drain.
Certainly my first EVER Lincolnshire Hobby in April and what a scoop!!
Probably of secondary interest Kirkby Moor produced 11 Avocet and no less than 84 Sand Martins which came in to roost as was about to leave for home. It was also very pleasing to see no less than 8 Gadwall a duck which I truly admire and probably get overlooked when Mallard are about
