Thanks Trisha.

Had an hour at the reservoir after finishing at the VC (1700-1800) and the Whinchat, Turtle Dove (1), Wood Sandpiper and Corn Bunting were all still present. Lovely.

Reported at VC today:-

Turtle Dove x 3 (Hedgerow - best viewed from reservoir)
Temminck's Stint x 3 (best viewed from sea-bank near East Hide)
Spoonbill x 1 (Wet Grassland - Present all day)
Little Gull x 2 (Middle Scrape)
Short-eared Owl x 1 (Adj. Farmland - South)
Common Sandpiper x 1
Turnstone x 1
Great Spotted Woodpecker x 1

Daniel is correct -the stints were best seen from the sea-bank not far from the steps close to the East Hide. We had spent over an hour in East Hide vainly looking for these. It was a different story once we were above the birds, channels in the mud and vegetation. A case for the RSPB building a hide somewhere here I wonder?
C100 ringed plover and 30+ dunlin wer in the area
Also a black brant was under the steps at the end of the road about 11:00

Other highlight Chris Grimshaw and I found was the Wood Sandpiper on the reservoir, no luck with Turtle Doves, Corn Bunting or Winchat that were reported.
