A fine male Red-backed Shrike was seen in the top of a thorn bush this afternoon (16.00hrs) near Black Bridge, Saltfleet.
It was very skittish and after a few minutes flew along a stock proof fence, periodically hunting insects before flying out of sight towards Saltfleet.

An incredible 10 Red-backed Shrikes recorded at Spurn yesterday (25th), a new spring record for them! Certainly appears to be an influx on the east coast this spring.
