A Long-eared Owl was at Pye's along with a Spotted Flycatcher. There were also five Reed Warblers and a Chiffchaff in the Pye's/Eau area. Waders included 85 Grey Plover, 4 Whimbrel, 50 Knot and 12 Bar-tailed Godwits.

(Not quite as good as this day five years ago!)

Hi James,

A Roller in Lincs. takes a bit of beating!
I don't remember anything about the bird - who saw it?

I had it at Quad 3 - along with Marsh and Icterine Warblers, Golden Oriole and Honey Buzzard in a two day period (and there were also several more Icterine and Marsh Warblers in the area along with RB Shrikes and Red-breasted Flycatcher (as well as plenty of migrants such as Spotted and Pied Flys, Tree Pipits, Ring Ouzel etc).

Puts this woeful spring into context - but there's always tomorrow...

A decade ago today a lucky few of the LBC Grimsby area members saw a Stone Curlew at Horseshoe Point - scary how time flies!

If my memory serves me when I first joined Lincs Bird News ( to those who don't know this was b4 the forum started up ) wasn't there a right stink about someone seeing a Spotted Crake on the North Lincs coast?

Regards

John
