A 3rdCY Yellow-legged Gull brightened up an otherwise mundane seawatch this morning. It was resting with immature Herring, Great Black-backed and Lesser Black-backed Gulls on the shore at the south end before leaving to the south with some of its companions at 1035. During an hour and a half, just 9 Gannets, one Sandwich and 2 Common Terns flew north. There were 58 Sanderlings on the mudflats and tide-line, whilst of note on the dunes were at least 4 Turtle Doves, 2 Cuckoos, 2 Corn Buntings and 2 Common Buzzards.
