Unfortunately this is a disappointing update in that they have failed at their first breeding attempt at Boston Stump. A few weeks ago someone who cut through the gate locks and may have spent several hours at the level at which the birds were nesting, before being arrested by the Police.
Today, one egg remained in the abandoned nest which has been collected to be sent away for analysis. However 'candling' the egg suggests that the egg was not far from hatching at the time of failure.... a really disappointing result.
Both adult birds are still on station, so we can only hope they will try again next year.
