The first egg on the LBC webcam hatched earlier today at 31.5 days after being laid.

See:- http://lincsbarnowls.blogspot.co.uk/

After a very poor start to the breeding season following the cold winter and spring, there are now a few pairs of Barn Owls on eggs or very small chicks. A few pairs are also yet to start nesting. A surprise for Bob Sheppard and me this weekend was a nestbox in the extreme south of the county which has three fledged young from the first brood and the parent female already on two eggs of a second clutch. The first brood's eggs would have to have been laid in March and much earlier than any others we know of.
