Both Manby Flashes and the adjacent Levee Doors have plenty of mud at the present. At Levee Doors this evening were 8 Green Sands and a Redshank. Manby held 2 Green Sands, 1 Black-tailed Godwit and a Greenshank. Geoff |

Today there were 22 Green Sandpiper (21 LD's, 1 M). I would be interested to hear if there is a better count in the county or indeed the country. Also today there were 2 Greenshank and 4 Dunlin on Manby Flashes. 26 Grey Heron and 5 Little Egret were also a good count for here. |

A remarkable count of Green Sandpipers Geoff but surprised that there are no Common Sands amongst them, there being quite a lot in some areas with Neil Drinkall reporting about 30 Common Sands sat on one log at Trent Falls last week. Roy |

Roy Common Sands don't seem to like this place much, although I have seen one or two at times. I see there were 8 reported in the log this morning but suspect they were actually Green Sands. I visited Frampton Marsh this morning and only saw 2 Common Sands there. Saltfleet Haven can be good for passage Common Sands with up to a dozen birds. It appears that Manby and Levee Doors are the Green Sand capitol of the country, the highest count ever recorded in the West Mids was 34 at Brandon Marsh, Warks. in July 1993. I believe Norfolk has had some high counts over the years though. Geoff |
