Post subject:  Donna Nook, 3rd August.

Passage to the north was only light this morning during a one and a half hour seawatch in a brisk south-westerly, hence 20 Sandwich Terns, 27 Common Terns, 2 Arctic Terns, 5 Little Terns, a Fulmar and 2 distant unidentified skuas. 5 Gannets and 6 Common Scoters flew south. The best of the waders seen were 22 Whimbrels, 31 Sanderlings, 4 Turnstones, 2 Green Sandpipers and one Common Sandpiper. Ca.300 Swallows, 13 Sand Martins and 5 Common Swifts hawking over the beach and sandflats, before most eventually drifted northwards.
