Generally quiet in the windy conditions this morning. 80 Sandwich Terns on the shore and 9 Kestrels, Sparrowhawk and Common Buzzard on the dunes. A male House Sparrow was the first for three years and only the third record since 1995, a far cry from the huge numbers which used to pour along the dunes 30+ years ago. 500 Swallows, 43 House Martins and 20 Sand Martins flew north.
In the afternoon, there was my third ever garden record of a Green Woodpecker. It was an adult feeding on ants. There was also a Painted Lady, while a male Banded Demoiselle was my first Donna Nook record of this species.
