I think there is a bit of a question mark over whether we have a Slavonian or a Black-necked Grebe. There were a pair reported earlier on today, and I am led to believe that at least one of them was reported as a Slavonian.

Ian Ellis and I managed to get better views this evening from the far side of the reedbed, albeit in fast fading light. We could only find one bird but we're pretty convinced that it was an immature Black-necked Grebe; upturned bill, buffy behind ears, black mask rather than cap. Ian digiscoped some photo's so hopefully we will get this nailed down.

BNG but the bill is very straight. Might just be the camera angle.
