Post subject:  Sea View Farm 1/10/13

I had a meeting in Manby this afternoon, so with a bit of dashing about I managed to grab half an hour before the meeting at lunchtime and an hour this evening at Sea View Farm.

Difficult to find many sheltered spots in the brisk wind but some tantalising glimpses of little dark shapes diving between the buckthorn and bushes indicated there were some birds about. Not the biggest tally in the short time available, but the following noted:

Song Thrush - 2 dropped in from some height at lunchtime and 4 diving around the dunes this evening.
Redwing - 2 showing well in a hawthorn this evening
Blackcap - 1 male
Goldcrest - 1

A few Blue Tits and Great Tits moving through with the odd Blackbird 'clucking' and some Robins 'ticking' away at various points.

Little Egret - 1 flew past over the saltmarsh

Also some aerial action from one of the new RAF Voyagers working the range at Donna Nook at lunchtime and doing several circuits in the area. Very impressive to see such a hulking great aircraft so low over the beach and turning some tight circuits - Quite something but I appreciate such a sight may be wasted on non aviation enthusiasts!!
