At 1040, the American Golden Plover was found with Golden Plovers on a field of newly-emerging cereal south of the old coastguard cottages. It was well-watched for about five minutes before the flock departed towards Stonebridge. I was fairly certain that it was American Golden Plover, but am grateful to GPC who was able to confirm its identity by clearing up a couple of my uncertainties over the phone. It is possible that it may have joined Golden Plovers on the realignment scheme area between Stonebridge and Pye's Hall, although there are small flocks on several of the coastal fields and on the shore which are all worth checking.

At the south end today, the only other birds of note were 2 Ring Ouzels, Redwing, Common Redstart, Yellow-browed Warbler, Reed Warbler, 3 Swallows and 4 House Martins.
