Not so many migrants present today, but still plenty of birds in evidence. The totals between Pye's Hall and Quad 3 during the day were 270 Redwings, 110 Blackbirds, 60 Song Thrushes, 8 Fieldfares, 6 Ring Ouzels, 160 Robins, 120 Goldcrests, 200 Chiffchaffs, 50 Blackcaps, 4 Yellow-browed Warblers, 2 Pallas's Warblers, (in the RAF tower area), 4 Great Grey Shrikes (all between Pye's Hall and the Ponderosa), 24 Bramblings, 5 Mealy Redpolls, 8 Siskins, Hawfinch (in Quad 3 willow hedge at 1615, different from the above record near Stonebridge), Common Redstart, Black Redstart and a Swallow. Also of interest were 15 Barnacle Geese, Hen Harrier, Merlin, Sooty Shearwater, Pomarine Skua and Great Skua.
