Post subject:  Blackbird passage.

It was a day of Blackbird passage today, many were seen around the caravan park at Saltfleet and this afternoon in an hours sea watching over a hundred were seen flying in off the sea in groups of up to 40 at a time. There was the odd Fieldfare and Song Thrush also arriving. Redwing were feeding on Buckthorn berries and a Woodcock was in the scrub. 6,975 Blackbird were reported at Spurn per the observatory website. It would be interesting to see what turned up at Pyes Hall today, if anyone was there (a White's Thrush maybe?).
Other birds seen today were 20 Snow Bunting and 80 Twite at Brickyard Lane Theddlethorpe, and a Barnacle Goose and a Pink-footed Goose at Saltfleetby St Clements.

Between Stonebridge car park and Pyes Hall this morning there were circa 100 Blackbirds, 50 Reed Buntings and a few Fieldfare, Redwing,Chaffinch, Yellowhammer and a Brambling.
In the afternoon a Short-eared Owl was by Huttoft car terrace and a Woodcock flew along side the car en route to Wolla Bank.
