After some very quiet days, this afternoon turned out to be pretty exciting. 5 Siskin and c30 Tree Sparrow (my biggest flock in the area) near the mini industrial estate. Along the Witham from Kirkstead bridge I found a mobile mixed finch flock, feeding in some brassica seed crop. They were mostly Linnet (c30) but I was astonished to find 2 Twite amongst them - a new species for the area for me. Rob |
