whooper swan 14 (on fields to the west of the reserve) pink-footed goose c250 (on fields to the west of the reserve) black brant (1 on the scrape briefly and earlier on the wet grassland) snipe 10 (but couldn't find the reported Jack Snipe) kestrel 3 ( no other raptors or owls despite spending over an hour and a half on the sea wall until virtually dark. Glorious sunset though. brent goose c2500 -could have been many more Barnacle goose 1 greylag goose 31 canada goose c144 wigeon c2800 teal c660 pintail 24 gadwall 28 mallard c236 little egret 32 moorhen 26 coot 9 magpie 12 shoveler 4 shelduck 3 dunlin 5 redshank c36 curlew 46 oystercatcher 1 golden plover 14 starling c120 mute swan 6 vast flocks of waders seen out over the sea from the sea wall
