Checked out this site this morning c1020-1100. No sign of the shrike when I was there but spoke to another birder who had seen the bird Sunday. Only birds of note were 3 red kite and 1 buzzard.

On drive home further 2 red kites ove Newton Bar (ie turnoff to Newton from the A52 - cTF0436).

Checked out the Folkingham site (where shrike in winter 11-12 & only 6km from this site) but nothing there either.

Out of interest it appears that this Shrike is still around.

On BirdGuides go to latest UK/Irish photos and for today (10th Jan 2014) there are three photos by Bob Pacey.

Thought folk in the south of the county might like to know.

Cheers

Grahame

Went to see if I could find this bird today after spending a couple of hours at Marston
Drove down the road in question twice before finding the bird in the roadside hedge at TF017390 (Aisby end) (15:45)
A couple of buzzard showed well at the Swarby end of the road
Also noted my first green woodpecker and linnet of the year
