On a fairly grim day, a few observers could not locate Tom's bird, but there was a fairly large flock of big gulls in the area. Many had soaking wet plumage or were effluent stained, or both. Not an easy task picking this bird out, but in better weather well worth looking
Phil,
(Graham Catley and Steve Routledge also spent more time there along with a few others. They also had Iceland and Med gull there.)

If you do want a fun filled day watching mucky gulls dipping into yellow slurry stay in your car and the birds will come close but get out and they will depart.

The gull flock was in the field on top of the hill (alt. 78m on the OS map), centre approx TA 043120 - when you take the minor road NW from the A180/A15 junction, the next minor road right (NE) runs along the top of the field. Various vantage points around the field depending on the gulls and gaps in the hedge,
Phil

As Graham has reiterated, view only from your car as the flock will flush at long range. The gulls do come close with patience.
