Reported by Mark Paver Great Grey Shrike again on Fen Lane, Bassingham 10.30 - till at least 11.30 today Thurs 2nd Jan. In the trees/bushes approx 100mtrs past the hay bales. Same bird as before (ringed). Also as per Oliver the Shrike is just as good as any kestrel at hovering doing so for 30sec at a time. Regards Mark Paver |

That's good news......i looked for it several times over the Christmas break but to no avail...it was perhaps waiting for all the Christmas walkers to subside!. Cheers, Oliver |

No sign of the shrike yesterday (5th Jan) but had a little owl on the hedge near the hay bales. Lots of fieldfares about also. Regards Brian |
