Post subject:  Great White Egret, Bridge before North Thoresby Bridge

I was told at around 13:30 by a birder that he had seen a GWE near the turkey farm towards Tetney Lock and that it had flown off in the general direction of North Thoresby bridge. After an hour and a half searching all the dykes in the immediate area nothing was happening so I turned my attention further afield either Tetney Blow wells or North Thoresby Ponds.

Heading back towards North Thoresby I saw the GWE Standing on the edge of a field, Quickly pulled into a farmers track and got brief views of the bird dropping into the dyke. Getting clear cut views of the huge Yellow Bill.

The bird is very flighty and isn't easy to pin Down I last saw the bird fly into New Dyke. I would say best viewable from public right of way to the west if its still in and around those dykes and not back up on Louth canal
