Walk on very windy 5th feb. Large finch flock including Bramblings in trees next to corn field. Distant and shy so hard to determine numbers of different species but two male Bramblings showing well, more flying about in larger mixed finch flock-greenfinches/chaffinches. Little owl sat very close in pile of branches for bonfire near end of valley at Normanby top. Two buzzards and kestrel. F. Yellowhammer Tom |

I know just where you mean Tom. Did you walk through the valley towards the old Nettleton Mines? It can get very wet underfoot in some of that section at this time of year. Roy |
