Today at Linwood Warren LWT produced the usual tit and finch flocks. Highlights in the morning were six Lesser Redpoll and six Siskin feeding in Larch. Three Woodcock were flushed in the same area. Fourteen Crossbills flew over towards the golf course and a Ringed-necked Parakeet was heard to call just before lunch. It quietened down after lunch, the Great Spotted Woodpeckers that had been quite vocal all but disappeared. Four Bullfinches by the pond being the best of the afternoon.
Returning home via Kelstern a Barn Owl flushed approx. thirty Yellowhammers and at least the same amount of Corn Buntings from a field margin. A good end to good day.
Regards
Mark with Chris Heaton.
