A Water Pipit was a welcome find on the outmarsh at the south end today. Despite reasonable numbers in some recent winters, I have not seen any over the past winter possibly due to the fact that the area preferred by Water Pipits has been flooded and partly inaccessible since the December surge-tide. A Guillemot and 3 Eiders were noted on the sea.

Evening Steve,

A Water Pipit got up from the channel adjacent to the embankment at Quad 3 last Saturday (8th) and flew right out in the direction of the saltmarsh - it may well have been the same bird as yours.

Regards

Chris

Yes, it was very close to there and is probably the same individual.
