Popped down briefly at lunch today. There were a handful of Redpoll feeding close to the entrance at the Old Hammond Beck Bank end of the wood. Loads of Skylark about - unfortunately dog walkers persist in trampling over their breeding area despite signs everywhere asking them not to use it from March onwards. I say "dog walkers". They actually just stand in the middle of the meadow and throw balls left, right and centre whilst Fido thrashes about all over the gaff. |
