Walked alongside the drain to the lake this morning. Lake dominated by about 200 Black Headed Gulls. About 30 Greylag moved between the lake and adjoining fields. Also seen on the lake - 6 Tufted Ducks, 6 Gadwall, 2 Mute Swan, 1 Canada Goose, 6 Shoveler, 15 Coot, 2 Cormorant, 10 Mallard. There was a variety of birds in the hedges and fields on the way there and back - 50 Goldfinch, 6 Great Tit, 8 Blue Tit, 10 Magpie, 100 Wood Pigeon, 6 Chiffchaff, 2 Treecreeper, 2 Wren, 8 Moorhen, 4 Chaffinch, 2 Greenfinch, 2 Pied Wagtail, 2 Dunnock, 2 Pheasant, 1 Grey Heron, 2 Mistle Thrush, 2 Green Woodpecker & 2 Jackdaw. 1 Buzzard was flying over the wood to the south. Unfortunately failed to see a Grey Partridge but a good walk.

Cheers Colin
