Went for a brief walk this afternoon to help loosen my chest, which is currently bunged up with a cold. Spring was definitely in the air with many of the birds on the estate in full song. Particularly notable was a Goldfinch which was giving it everything he had in order to catch a passing lady's ear!

A minute later, Year Tick 83 manifested itself in the form of a pair of House Martins, flying over a private lake at the back of a row of houses!!! An instant smile erupted on my face!

Also seen - Canada Goose, Greylag Goose, Mallard, Coot, Shoveler, Tufted Duck, Cormorant, Blackbird, Starling, House Sparrow, Song Thrush (singing), Woodpigeon, Collared Dove, Black-headed Gull, Herring gull and Lesser Black-backed Gull.
