still a hard slog;
first Swallow, single Sand Martin, Willow Warbler, 4 Blackcaps, Slav Grebe, first-summer male Long-tailed Duck still, no Scaup today, have been up to 6 recently, probably Arctic Redpoll flushed by a council van slamming door and not relocated with 6 Lessers Tuesday but no sign today of any redpolls today; total of 9 Cetti's Warbler territories now occupied around the pits a new record

relocated the Arctic Redpoll yesterday on Waters' Edge with 5-7 other redpolls at least one of which was a Mealy but most seemed to be Lessers; feeding in alders on various parts of the site but showing quite well once located;
35+ Chiffchaffs, a scatter of WW and Blackcaps but no big influx of anything else yet; this is the 3rd Arctic Redpoll for WE and all have occurred in years without an influx which is a bit odd -- a few photos on the blog in dull grey conditions with a lot of interrupting wood
